Designed to serve crowds, the polished aluminum urn brews about a cup of coffee per minute and has a ready-to-serve light that lets you know when you can start pouring. The two-way dispenser depresses to fill a single cup or can be propped in the vertical position to fill a larger carafe. Water level markings inside the urn help you accurately fill the urn to the proper water level. This coffee maker makes the best cup of coffee ever. The other 41 cups are very good too. It takes about 40 minutes to brew 42 cups of coffee. we even sneak out a few cups before the red light comes on.

Not a coffee drinker, bought it for hot chocolate at holiday parties. Worked great, however there is no temperature control and it gets really, really hot, keep a good stock of whip cream if using it for hot chocolate.

I bought this Hamilton Beach 42 cup coffee urn for my law office as we go thru a lot of coffee during a day at the office. At least 1 and sometimes 2 urns full a day. I have had this unit for several months now and it continues to work fine and is easy to clean. I cannot think of any disadvantages to list as this urn has worked perfectly every time. I am very happy with the purchase.
