Product Description

Go ahead, indulge. These thick, tasty drinks will perk you up, ravish your sweet tooth, and whip your taste buds into a frenzy. They can even be made with decaf for those who prefer the taste without the jitter. A Frappe is really any sort of icy, blended drink. It’s usually made with coffee, but there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to the ingredients. A Frappe can be wildly imaginative, wonderfully exotic, thoroughly classic, or somewhere in between.

Great Item, Saves Time

I recently purchased the Mr Coffee Frappe Maker after seeing an ad for it. I thought of the times I have had to stand in the long lines at the local coffee house, how many times they have made my Frappe wrong because they were in a rush to deal with the long lines and of course the cost they charge. I figured for $[...] it was worth a shot. The Frappe Maker gives you the control of strength of coffee or other goodies you may want in your drink, syrup, sugar, etc. The ad claims in delivers the product in 3 minutes and it does! I was personally delighted with the end product. It will have paid for itself after a mere 20 visits to the local coffee house. I am pleased with the ease of use and the convenience it provides. I can make myself a Frappe in my own home saving time and money, this is a great product for those that do not have a need to impress others by drinking coffee house Frappes. I anticipate many other copycat products following suit. Every so often a product comes along that is affordable and does exactly what you want it to do.......this is that product and it's affordable. Try it, if you don't like it, return it, you will be surprised how convenient it is however.
Must Buy!

This maker is the most convenient way to make frappe's ever. As per the instructions, use dark roast coffee or espresso for robust coffee flavor. Experiment with different flavors - it's cheap. No more waiting in line and handing over a ridiculous amount of money.

If you like Starbucks' Frappes, then read on. As a "smart shopper" I love finding deals that will end up saving me money; ultimately, saving me enough that the product pays for itself. I used to buy real iced tea by the gallon until I bought Mr. Coffee's Iced Tea machine... now I smile as I pass the aisle at my grocery knowing that I no longer have to lug those containers around and that my appliance has saved me lots of extra food money. With the Mr. Coffee Frappe Maker, I will be able to say the same every time I pass by a Starbucks (i.e. every other block!).

I have tried using a blender for similar results, but trust me when I tell you that is a waste of time. The results from the Frappe Maker are far superior. The ice breaking power and the appliance's "technique" were not only made for frappe making but is also as simple as can be. A note on its power: make sure you place this machine on a sturdy surface as it kind of jumps a bit when the blend takes place -- although I was never in doubt that the Frappe Maker would ever be too unstable (as tall and powerful it is) even during the first time I ran it... it is a legitimate piece of machinery.

I used Hershey's dark chocolate syrup to make a mocha frappe and followed the directions without modification... the results were perfect! The recipe booklet it comes with has several great concoctions that I would have never thought of on my own... I can't wait to try them out! Seriously, if you were to pour your homemade frappe into an empty Starbucks container and gave it to someone, they would NOT know the difference (and I say that without exaggeration!). One extra note: when you are at the store picking up ingredients, don't forget the straws... take it from me who learned the hard way! Also, the directions call for crescent-shaped ice cubes, but I used regular medium-sized ones and the results were just fine. Enjoy!

I am tickled pink just with the idea of hundreds I am going to save now that I can make my own iced coffee beverages. This sure beats forking out almost $7 for a couple Iced Cappuccinos from Tim Horton's every other day. We were so excited to get the Mr. Coffee BVMC-FM1 20-Ounce Frappe Maker.

It is so simple to use and takes less than 4 minutes to have your very own frothy delicious coffee invention to enjoy. Since it did not come on with any coffee filters, I used what we had available in our house - a 8-12 cup coffee filter. At first I was worried it would not fit correctly so I was going to cut it to adjust the size, but to my surprised the filter worked perfectly. I carefully followed the instructions for my first creation, 3 heaping tablespoons of coffee and 1/2 cup water in the water reservoir. Placed 2 cups of ice cubes, 1/4 milk, 3 tablespoons of chocolate syrup and 2 tablespoons of sugar in the pitcher. Locked it in place and pressed the Frappe button to start the cycles. The brewing of the coffee started immediately and we can smell the rich aroma of coffee in the air. All of a sudden we all jump out of our chairs because when the blender kicked in it sounded like a helicpoter flying over our house. OK yes it is loud but I found it amazing how it will automatically begin pulsating the blender in increments after the coffee was brewed. It tasted heavenly but I did notice there were several large chucks of ice in my glass. So you may want to press the blend button a few more times to make sure the ice is completely crushed. The Classic Mocha Frappe recipe was good but I knew I had to add my own special touches. I like my Frappes a little more creamer and lighter in color, so for my second creation I used 1/2 cup ice cubes, 3 scoops vanilla ice cream, 1/4 half and half and 2 tablespoons sugar. Using half and half instead of milk makes it more creamer and lighter in color. It came out creamy and delicious! The recipe book that is included has a wonderful collection of unique blends. I have never tasted a tea frappe so I am excited to try that next.

Cleanup is a breeze. The removal-able filter basket makes it simple to throw away the used grounds and the pitcher and basket are dishwasher safe. The unit itself is slim and takes up little space on the counter. The only problem I kept having was placing the pitcher cover in the locking position. I will get better with practice.

Overall wonderful product. Makes a great gift for any coffee lover. Now time to stock up on ice cream, berries, half and half, flavored syrups, etc., etc. The possibilities are endless.

Broke my Starbucks 2 a day habit!!!!!

I've a had a 1 - 2 a day Starbucks habit for over 7 years. Ok, so my first 2 frappes were disaster. I tried 'eyeballing' amounts and ended up with a mess on the counter! With EXACTLY 1/2 Cup water in the coffee and 1/4 milk, my drinks are not at all watery! I will agree with a few that said the drink recipe needed more coffee taste. My work around is it to keep espresso ice cubes in the freezer. I use half regular cubes and half espresso cubes. More coffee taste without watering down the drink! For those who complained about mess from all the things you need to assemble, perhaps this is an issue for someone who makes one or two a week. Because I make 1-2 per day, I grind coffee ahead of time, keep a stock of espresso ice cubes, use one half cup measure (ok, I eyeball that I half fill the half cup measure of milk and caramel/butterscotch syrup!). Considering what I'm saving compared to going to Starbucks or McDonald's, it's well worth it. I've got drink making down to a science and I'm saving a lot of money!
