You can spend five times as much for a tea kettle, but this one does exactly the same thing as the higher-priced models -- it boils water. It also looks good and the spout trigger is very easy and convenient to use. |

| I have not used a whistling kettle before this one so I couldn't tell you whether it loud enough or not. It seems loud enough for me. It looks great and well, boiled water (what else is there?) I give it four stars because I haven't had it for that long so I don't know what problems I might have as it gets older plus it didn't really do anything above and beyond what I expected to earn five stars. |

| This kettle whistles perfectly and so far it's holding up great. The handle gets hot but I can hold it long enough to pour the water without feeling like I'm getting burned. |

Whistle barely made a sound

| The kettle was fine for the price, but the whistle was more of a hiss. The plastic was in flames the last time I used the kettle and left the room, and I nearly set the kitchen on fire. I accept that this was my own fault, but if you want to rely on the whistle, do not get this item. I've learned my lesson and have ordered an electric tea kettle with auto-shutoff. I gave two stars for boiling water, but no more because people who buy whistling tea kettles generally want the whistle to work. |
